Gregory J. Schwartz, Sr.
Gregory J. Schwartz, Sr. is Chairman of the Board and founder of Schwartz & Co. Founded in 1976, Schwartz & Co. is registered with the SEC as a Registered Investment Advisor and with FINRA as a Broker-dealer. He has been in the investment management, banking, and advisory business since 1964. Mr. Schwartz is licensed as both a Registered Representative and General Securities Principal.
He is Chairman of Schwartz Financial Group, a real estate investment company with significant holdings in American House Senior Residences and other real estate assets. Mr. Schwartz has served on numerous boards and committees, including Beaumont Hospital Investment Committee, Michigan Opera Theatre, Marygrove College, Bloomfield Hills Country Club, Detroit Catholic Central High School, and Birmingham Brother Rice High School.
He was a co-founder and an owner of Schwartz Investment Counsel, an investment management firm which operates the Ave Maria Mutual Funds. He has taught investment management and securities analysis at both the University of Detroit and Lawrence Institute of Technology.
Mr. Schwartz earned his MBA degree at the University of Michigan and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Notre Dame. He also graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School.
He and his wife, Christa, have 15 grandchildren and reside in Bloomfield Hills.
